Job Description
- Accurately capture business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirements, including considerations for health, safety, usability, data, and support.
- Translate business requirements into features and assess the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution options.
- Evaluate and model processes, data flows, and technology to understand current value and issues, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Create clear documentation to communicate requirements and related information; keep it up to date to align with the solution throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure traceability of requirements, from business needs and requirements through testing and scope changes to the final solution.
- Engage with software vendors, designers, and developers to understand software limitations, deliver system and database design elements, and ensure business requirements and use cases are met.
- Configure and document software and processes using agreed standards and tools.
- Create acceptance criteria and validate that solutions meet business needs by defining and coordinating testing.
- Develop and present compelling business cases to justify the value of solutions and obtain approval, funding, and prioritization.
- Initiate, plan, execute, monitor, and control Business Analysis activities on projects within agreed cost, time, and quality parameters.
- Understand and stay up to date with relevant architectures and technologies related to a business area.
- Research potential solutions and innovative ideas.
- Guide and manage interactions with technology vendors.
- Lead stakeholder management activities, including facilitating large design sessions.
- Respond to organizational and environmental changes during ongoing activities.
- Guide business stakeholders to gain acceptance/approval, even when objectives conflict. Manage requirements to the smallest possible set that delivers the greatest impact on advancing business objectives and end-user adoption.
- Describe technology in terms easily understood by business clients and set realistic expectations for project outcomes. Adjust client expectations as scope changes.
- Generate innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunities.
- Work closely with stakeholders to build trust and understand their objectives, motivations, constraints, risks, and operating environment.
