Job Summary
The Business Systems Analyst (BSA) will support enhancements and modernization of the Messaging Back Office (MBO) application within a leading financial institution. This role plays a critical part in Azure migration initiatives, requiring strong technical expertise and close collaboration with Agile pod members to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Business Systems Analysis & Requirements
- Elicit, analyze, document, and manage detailed system, functional, and non-functional requirements
- Translate business needs into user stories, functional specifications, and technical requirements
- Research and analyze current-state system capabilities and recommend technology solution options
- Agile Delivery & Collaboration
- Actively participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, refinements, estimations, and retrospectives
- Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies; provide timely escalation when required
- Maintain ongoing communication with business partners, pod members, and technology stakeholders
- Testing & Quality Support
- Support QA and testing teams by translating requirements into test conditions and expected results
- Participate in quality management reviews of designs, prototypes, and requirements artifacts
- Technical & Operational Support
- Collaborate with architects, developers, and QA to assess impacts to existing systems and integrations
- Provide operational and process analysis support as required
- Ensure adherence to enterprise technology delivery practices, standards, and BSA best practices
- Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Act as a senior/lead BSA, coaching and guiding less experienced analysts
- Contribute to knowledge transfer and continuous improvement initiatives
- Identify opportunities to enhance productivity, efficiency, and solution quality
Qualifications
- Experience
- 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience
- 5+ years of delivery experience in Agile environments
- 5+ years working with Agile / SAFe methodologies
- Experience supporting banking or financial services platforms
- Must-Have Technical Skills
- Jira & Confluence (5+ years)
- Strong experience with API integrations
- Hands-on knowledge of Angular, Java, and Azure (3+ years, recent)
- Additional Technical & Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of system components, interfaces, data flows, and business rules
- Experience with enterprise technology delivery practices, testing, and solution design
- Soft Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
