Category Growth Manager

Job Description
As a Category Growth Manager, you will lead end-to-end category strategy across General Trade (GT), Modern Trade (MT), and Modern Trade Independent (MTI) channels. You’ll act as a strategic partner to both brand and sales teams, ensuring our categories grow through insight-led decisions, strong commercial planning, and data-driven strategies. This is not an execution role, you will focus on strategy, planning, and influencing decisions at scale.
Key Responsibilities:
Category Strategy & PlanningDevelop and drive integrated category growth strategies across all offline channelsDefine category roles, growth drivers, and shopper missions by channel and formatBuild and manage annual category roadmaps aligned with brand and commercial priorities
Channel & Customer StrategyPartner with Sales and Key Account teams to embed category insights into Joint Business Plans (JBPs)Influence assortment, pricing, and shelving strategiesDrive channel segmentation and customer-specific growth strategies
Insights & PerformanceLeverage Nielsen, Kantar, and internal data to identify growth opportunitiesMonitor performance metrics (sell-out, market share, in-store execution)Translate data into actionable commercial strategies
Portfolio & Promo StrategyRecommend SKU prioritization and channel-specific assortmentAlign with pricing and promo teams to ensure effective, value-driven promotionsSupport new product launches with strong distribution and readiness planning
Cross-functional LeadershipCollaborate with Sales, Retail Marketing, Supply Chain, and Data teamsAct as the voice of shopper and channel in strategic decision-making forums
What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, or related fieldMinimum 3 years of experience in Category Management, Trade Marketing, or Sales Strategy (FMCG/Beauty preferred)Fluent in English (business level)Strong understanding of Indonesia’s GT, MT, and MTI landscapeProven ability to translate data into strategic actionsExperience with Nielsen, Kantar, and advanced Excel/PowerPointStrong stakeholder management and communication skills
