About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Advanced Practice Officer (CAPO) to join their executive leadership team. The CAPO will be responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of advanced practice providers (APPs) across the organization. This includes developing and executing workforce strategies, leading the response to regulatory changes, and partnering with the Chief Medical Officer to advance a unified, physician-led, APP-partnered model of care.
The role also involves overseeing APP deployment, practice standards, and compensation model design, as well as providing direct line leadership to the APP supervisor team. The successful candidate will be a key member of the executive team, contributing to enterprise strategy and ensuring that APP strategy is integrated into the company's priorities. Candidates for the CAPO position at the company should have a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a preference for a Doctorate of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Medical Science.
A minimum of 8 years of clinical practice as an APP and 2 years of progressive APP leadership experience are required. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of APP scope of practice, regulatory environment, and workforce deployment, particularly in the context of the Wisconsin Act 17. Executive leadership experience in a healthcare setting, excellent communication skills, and a strong commitment to the physician-led, APP-partnered model of care are essential.
The role demands a strategic thinker with the ability to manage complex initiatives and build credibility with both medical staff and the APP workforce.
