We currently have a full-time opportunity for a Financial Analyst to join our Marketing Finance team.
In this role, you will act as a business partner to the Quebec Marketing team and provide financial analysis support to the Finance Manager, Marketing & Retail Media Network Finance. The position is responsible for reporting, period-end close activities, budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial analysis related to the Quebec Marketing portfolios. This role offers an excellent opportunity for candidates looking to build strong expense management and FP&A experience while partnering with a dynamic marketing organization within a national retail company.
Key Responsibilities Prepare month-end and quarter-end close activities including accrual preparation, expense reviews, and financial reconciliations. Partner with Quebec marketing teams to track campaign spending to ensure alignment with approved budgets and forecasts. Perform variance analysis and commentary on marketing spend versus budget and forecast.
Assist with annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes for marketing expenses and ensure it is completed within prescribed deadlines. Assist Finance Manager, Marketing & RMN in the process of creating and maintaining forecasting, and budgeting templates. Assist Finance Manager, Marketing & RMN in development of various analyses and ad hoc requests.
Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance measurement tools and reporting to further meet the needs of the business. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, or related field. CPA designation or working toward CPA is preferred. 2–5 years of experience in financial analysis, or experience supporting marketing or advertising budgets preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles including accrual accounting and period-end close processes. Bilingual (English/French) is required, particularly for supporting Quebec portfolios. The candidate will be expected to work collaboratively with peers in other provinces to develop procedures and processes to be implemented nationally, and also interact regularly with peers across Canada.
Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy. Medium or Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems (e.g., SAP) or Power Query or Power BI is an asset. Strong communication skills with the ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.
