Job Description
Financial Analyst – Research Operations
As a Financial Analyst at Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI), a subsidiary of McKesson, you will provide financial support to Research Operations through accurate analyses, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and insightful financial advice. This position is remote with one day per month onsite at our Corporate Headquarters in Nashville.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop departmental budgets with appropriate variance analyses using historical data
- Analyze variances to standard and historical trends
- Create forecasting models
- Prepare the Monthly Operating Report for executive management, supported by relevant data
- Interpret contract language and independently build financial models that conform to agreement details
- Complete financial analyses that accurately reflect business health
- Design reports that communicate performance, identify issues, and contribute to better management decisions
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within healthcare, clinical research, or pharmaceutical industries
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, SharePoint, PowerPoint
- Strong knowledge of financial and accounting concepts
- Familiarity with business models related to health‑care research
- Understanding of performance metrics for medical research
- Knowledge of statistical principles and applications
