Job DescriptionHead of Group Financial Reporting up to €100,000 Dublin 8 Our client is a fast-growing organisation operating across multiple legal entities, investment structures and reporting groups, with an active acquisition pipeline and significant exposure to the energy and infrastructure sectors. Reporting to the Finance Director, this is a senior, hands-on finance leadership opportunity with ownership of Group consolidation, technical accounting, statutory reporting and audit. Managing a team of five, the successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening financial governance and reporting as the organisation continues to grow.
This role is particularly suited to a qualified, audit-trained accountant with strong FRS 102 expertise, group consolidation experience and a proven track record in acquisition accounting and complex financial structures. Responsibilities Lead Group consolidation and the preparation of consolidated and statutory financial statements across multiple entities and reporting groups. Lead technical accounting judgements and develop clear technical papers and Group accounting policies under FRS 102/IFRS.
Oversee the accounting and reporting of joint ventures, associates, investments and other complex ownership structures. Lead Finance involvement in acquisitions, including financial due diligence, completion accounts, purchase price allocations, opening balance sheets and post-acquisition integration. Establish robust financial reporting, controls and compliance frameworks for newly acquired entities.
Lead the annual external audit and act as the principal Finance contact for auditors. Prepare Board, investor and lender reporting, communicating financial performance and key movements clearly. Provide technical guidance on business combinations, investments, revenue arrangements, development work in progress and capitalised costs.
Provide technical leadership, coaching and development to qualified and part-qualified members of the Finance team. Support the continued improvement of reporting, governance, controls and year-end processes across the Group. Requirements Fully qualified ACA or ACCA accountant with a strong technical accounting background.
Audit-trained (essential), ideally gained within a Big Four or Top 10 practice environment. 8+ years' experience in Group consolidation across multiple entities and reporting groups. Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102; exposure to IFRS is advantageous. Proven hands-on experience across acquisition accounting, financial due diligence, completion accounts, purchase price allocation and integration.
Strong understanding of business combinations, equity accounting and joint ventures/associates. Previous experience leading, reviewing and developing an accounting team. Experience working across multi-entity and multi-currency environments; Irish/UK cross-border experience is advantageous.
Excellent analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to take ownership of complex technical matters. Advanced Excel skills; experience with Microsoft Business Central is desirable. Experience within renewable energy, infrastructure, project finance or development-asset accounting would be advantageous.
