Yes, you read that right. The role in a nutshell You are THE SENIOR HR voice in this organization. You mentor your team.
You build scalable people practices - not just put out fires. You’ll lead HRBPs, Payroll, Recruitment, and Health & Safety. You’ll have a direct report based in the United States.

Your 7 key responsibilities 1 — HR Leadership & Business Partnership Act as the senior HR representative and trusted advisor to business leaders across Canada and the US Partner closely with executive leadership to align people strategies with business objectives, operational needs and growth plans Provide strategic HR counsel on organizational design, workforce planning, talent development, succession planning and change management Challenge the status quo — present thoughtful perspectives, practical solutions and innovative people strategies Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and employee engagement 2 — Lead, Mentor and Develop the HR Team Your team consists of HR Business Partners, Payroll, Recruitment/Talent Acquisition and Health & Safety.
You’ll set clear priorities, build structure and create real development opportunities. Your team, managers and leaders throughout the organization will rely on you to coach them on employee management, communication, performance and engagement. 3 — Talent Management & Organizational Development Develop and implement strategies for Talent Management, Performance Management, Learning & Development, Succession Planning, Compensation & Total Rewards, and Employee Engagement. Lead recruitment strategies and employer branding initiatives Establish scalable onboarding, recognition, feedback and career development frameworks 4 — HR Operations, Compliance & Legislation Develop, implement and maintain HR policies, procedures and frameworks across Canada and the US Oversee: Employee Relations, Labour Relations, Attendance & Performance Management, Payroll oversight, Compensation & Benefits administration Support year-end HR and payroll audit requirements, including reconciliations and remittances Ensure HR systems, reporting, and processes effectively support operational needs and organizational growth 5 — Health & Safety Oversee the H&S function in collaboration with operational leadership Promote and strengthen a proactive safety culture across transportation, warehousing and office environments Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations and support continuous improvement 6 — Employee Experience & Culture Build and deploy employee engagement initiatives aligned with company values and culture Lead employee communication initiatives and support organizational transparency and alignment Implement wellness and employee support initiatives focused on physical and mental well-being Support diversity, inclusion and belonging initiatives that strengthen culture and employee retention 7 — Growth, Integration & Continuous Improvement Contribute to M&A initiatives, including HR due diligence and post-acquisition integration support Establish HR metrics and KPI reporting to identify trends, measure effectiveness and support decision-making Continuously assess opportunities to improve HR processes, employee experience and ROI of people programs Build external partnerships with recruiters, trainers, coaches and HR service providers as needed What is your team asking of you?

Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field CHRA/CRHA designation preferred Minimum 10 years of progressive HR leadership experience, ideally within logistics, transportation, warehousing or other operational environments Experience leading HR teams within entrepreneurial or high-growth organizations — tell me about how you’ve developed people’s abilities and harmonized and built HR departments. Demonstrated success supporting organizational growth, change management and leadership development Experience overseeing multiple HR disciplines: HR Business Partnership, Payroll, Recruitment, Employee & Labour Relations, Health & Safety, Compensation & Performance Management What’s offered - the real details.
