Senior Markets / Derivatives Lawyer (12-Month Contract) London (Hybrid) | Global Investment Banking Environment A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to support its Counterparty Trading & Risk (CTR) and Foreign Exchange (FX) businesses within Markets. This is a high-profile, front-office aligned role offering broad exposure across complex transactions and strategic initiatives on a global scale. Key Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day legal support to investor and corporate sales teams Advise on a broad range of complex transactions, including derivatives, project finance, and acquisition finance Lead legal due diligence on expansion into new jurisdictions and new product launches Support on default scenarios and close-outs , often driven by market and geopolitical events Partner closely with global stakeholders across London, New York, and other financial centres to deliver commercially focused advice Key Requirements: 6–8 years’ PQE (or equivalent), from private practice or in-house Exposure to FX and/or derivatives (working knowledge sufficient) Strong academics and technical grounding Commercially minded with a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach Confident communicator with the ability to manage a varied and high-volume workload Additional Information: Start date: August 2026 Duration: 12 months Working pattern: Hybrid (London-based) Please contact: [email protected] for further details.
