About the Company
Our client, a respected law firm located in downtown Toronto, is seeking a Litigation Legal Assistant to join their team. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement with 3 days in office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, draft, and revise litigation documents, including pleadings, correspondence, affidavits, and motion materials
- Assist lawyers with file management throughout all stages of litigation
- Manage calendars, court dates, discoveries, and key deadlines
- Coordinate court filings and service of legal documents
- Organize and maintain physical and electronic client files
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court staff, and third parties
- Prepare accounts, handle billing, time entry, and docketing
- Monitor limitation periods and ensure compliance with procedural timelines
- Provide general administrative support to the litigation team as required
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience as a Litigation Legal Assistant
- Legal Assistant or Law Clerk diploma/certificate from a recognized institution is considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and court rules
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Professional, client-focused attitude with strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Compensation
