Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Logistics and Custom Specialist is responsible to supervise the efficient and effective management of warehouse operations and logistics activities as well as analyze, and plan customs, excise related activities to ensure compliance with regulations. He/She will lead a team of warehouse staff and coordinate with various internal departments, suppliers, and transportation providers to ensure timely receipt, storage, and delivery of goods as well as ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory custom requirements (export import compliance requirement)
Supervise the warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping processes.Develop and implement warehouse and inventory management to optimize space utilization, minimize stock discrepancies, and ensure accurate inventory records.Supervising the planning and execution of inbound and outbound logistics activities, including transportation, customs clearance, and documentation to ensure compliance with local and international customs regulations.Monitor customs duty, tax, and incentive utilization (FTA, bonded zone, duty exemption, etc.).Prepare and validated all documents required in the import process, such as : Inv/PL,BL,COO, HS code, customs value, COO, permits, licenses, and relevant documents as well as checking Prohibitions and Restrictions regulations on certain commoditiesCollaborate with procurement and production teams to ensure timely availability of materials and finished goods for production and customer orders.Enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse operations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory guidelines.Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and carriers to arrange timely and cost-effective transportation of goods.Supervising a team of warehouse staff, providing training, coaching, and performance management to achieve operational excellence.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for warehouse and logistics operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.Collaborate with suppliers, transportation providers, and customs agents to ensure smooth and cost-effective logistics operations.
Qualifications and Education RequirementsMinimum Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. At least 5 years of proven experience in logistics, customs and/or excise operations in a multinational company, advisory firm or a customs & excise authority. Experiences from tobacco company will be preferable.
In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and custom principles and best practices including bonded zone custom requirement.Proficiency in using ERP for logistics/warehouse managementExcellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on continuous improvement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing business needs.Knowledge of safety regulations and practices related to warehousing and logistics.Familiarity with Lean or Six Sigma principles is a plus.Professional certifications in supply chain management or logistics are desirable.Comfortable working to tight deadlines and to a consistent high standard with minimum supervision
