JOB SUMMARY
The Operations Manager – Waterboom is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the waterpark, ensuring safety, service quality, operational efficiency, team performance, and financial results. This role leads all operational departments and supports the General Manager in achieving business objectives, maintaining safety and regulatory compliance, and enhancing guest satisfaction.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Oversight:• Lead and oversee daily operations of all waterpark departments including Rides & Attractions, Lifeguard Operations, Engineering & Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Guest Services, Security, and Housekeeping.• Ensure all attractions operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines and safety regulations.• Coordinate closely with department heads to ensure seamless park operations, crowd control, and peak-day readiness.• Monitor operational KPIs and implement continuous improvement initiatives.• Conduct regular park inspections to ensure cleanliness, safety, and readiness of all facilities.• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and support capital expenditure and asset replacement planning.
Safety & Risk Management:• Ensure strict compliance with waterpark safety standards, local regulations, and international best practices.• Oversee lifeguard training, certification, and emergency preparedness programs.• Lead emergency response planning, drills, and incident management.• Review and investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Guest Experience:• Ensure a high level of guest satisfaction through excellent service, safety assurance, and efficient operations.• Maintain visible leadership presence in guest areas.• Handle escalated guest feedback and complaints professionally and promptly.• Build strong relationships with tenants, vendors, local authorities, and community stakeholders.
Team Management & Leadership:• Lead, coach, and develop department heads and supervisors.• Foster a strong safety culture, teamwork, discipline, and service excellence.• Support recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning.• Ensure SOPs are current, clearly communicated, and consistently implemented.• Coordinate training programs including safety, service, and operational skills.
Financial Performance:• Support preparation and execution of annual budgets and business plans.• Control operating costs, labor productivity, inventory, and procurement.• Identify revenue enhancement and cost-efficiency opportunities while maintaining safety and service quality.• Ensure proper cash handling and internal control procedures.
Sales, Marketing & Events Support:• Support promotions, group bookings, school visits, corporate events, and special programs.• Coordinate operational readiness for events, peak seasons, and campaigns.• Collaborate with Marketing to enhance guest flow and overall park experience.
Others:• Achieve assigned monthly and annual KPIs.• Willing to accept assignments or transfers based on business needs.• Perform other duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS / DNA• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in operations management within waterparks, theme parks, resorts, or large-scale recreational facilities.• Strong leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary operational teams.• Solid understanding of waterpark safety standards, risk management, and emergency response.• Proven ability in budget management, cost control, and operational analysis.• Hands-on, decisive, and calm under pressure with strong problem-solving skills.
