Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for the efficient operation of a fleet of approximately 8–10 time-chartered vessels, with the objective of optimising voyage performance and costs. Key responsibilities include:Daily updating of the internal trade capture system Issuing instructions to Masters and maintaining communication with shipowners, charterers, brokers, and in-house traders Appointment of agents, surveyors, and other service providers Bunker planning, approval of stowage plans, and coordination of hold-cleaning requirements, including supply of chemicals and equipment Review, approval, and processing of shipping documents (including Bills of Lading and Letters of Indemnity) Control and processing of third-party invoices, including port disbursement accounts Preparation of hire/freight payments and invoicing Monitoring vessel performance to ensure optimal speed and cost efficiency in prevailing market conditions Preparation, follow-up, and settlement of claims in coordination with the Chartering and Legal teams Laytime calculations and negotiations Monthly voyage P&L analysis Calculation and verification of EU Fuel and EU Allowances (EUAs) The candidate will work closely with the Chartering team, internal colleagues, clients, and external service providers. The role also requires initiative and a proactive approach, as the company encourages process improvements and operational efficiencies.This position is suited to an individual with experience in a fast-paced environment and a solid background in bulk carrier operations, particularly Panamax and/or Supramax vessels. The successful candidate must be proactive, detail-oriented, and meticulous.
