Job Description
Grupo Cunado is looking for a local Project Manager of Metal Structure based in Chennai (India), to work in an international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Overall technical, production, commercial, and financial coordination of projects from kick-off through to final completion.
- Coordinate the different engineering disciplines and project stakeholders, ensuring technical quality and compliance with project schedules, budgets, and contractual specifications, both in the engineering office and on site.
- Lead the planning and execution of engineering activities, ensuring compliance with procedures, applicable regulations, quality standards, and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) and Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) requirements.
- Participate in technical and progress meetings with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors, managing technical queries, non-conformities, and contract variations.
- Coordinate and supervise fabrication and site erection activities, monitoring productivity, milestone achievement, and the proper execution of works.
- Manage the commercial relationship with clients, including negotiation of change orders, variation orders, progress certifications, and the financial close-out of projects.
- Prepare and consolidate progress reports, project status reports, and project close-out documentation.
- Monitor project budgets, engineering hours, and internal and subcontracted resources, ensuring project profitability and cost optimization.
- Identify and manage technical, production, or financial deviations, proposing and implementing corrective actions and improvements in constructability and operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with project objectives regarding quality, cost, schedule, and safety.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position within an industrial or construction company.
- Experience in engineering resource and workload planning.
- Strong project coordination skills across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Proven leadership abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of and experience with structural steel projects.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Experience working with BIM models using Tekla Structures.
