Regional Marketing Manager (Agrochemical Industry)
About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Regional Marketing Manager to lead strategic planning, execution, and monitoring of crop-wise and product-wise marketing initiatives across the assigned geography. The role requires expertise in agricultural marketing, farmer engagement, channel engagement, promotional campaign management, and team leadership to drive business growth, product adoption, and market penetration.
The incumbent will be responsible for developing impactful crop-specific promotional strategies, optimizing marketing budgets, strengthening distribution channels, enhancing brand visibility, and conducting technical and sales training programs for internal teams, channel partners, societies, and farmers.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Business Development
- Develop and execute crop-wise, season-wise, and product-wise marketing strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
- Prepare annual, quarterly, and monthly promotional plans to improve market penetration and product positioning.
- Plan and optimize utilization of promotional and marketing budgets to maximize return on investment (ROI).
- Forecast and plan product demand, promotional material requirements, and campaign activities based on crop cycles and market potential.
- Design and implement channel enhancement and market expansion initiatives to strengthen distribution networks.
- Collaborate with teams for geography-wise and product-wise sales target allocation and achievement.
- Responsible for regional receivable management, including collection planning, payment follow-up.
Campaign Management & Product Promotion
- Lead execution of integrated crop campaigns focusing on key crops, farmer needs, and market opportunities.
- Plan and monitor promotional activities including:
- Farmer Training Programs (FTP)
- Group Meetings
- Product Demonstrations
- Field Days
- Crop Seminars
- Exhibitions and Trade Fairs
- Harvest Days
- Yield Benefit Demonstrations
- Ensure effective deployment and placement of promotional materials, branding assets, and retail visibility tools.
- Track campaign effectiveness through market feedback, sales performance, and farmer adoption metrics.
Product Portfolio & Technical Extension
- Promote crop-specific product portfolios and integrated crop solutions to farmers, channel partners, and institutions.
- Conduct technical demonstrations showcasing product efficacy, yield enhancement, and economic benefits.
- Develop crop-based recommendation packages and seasonal advisory programs.
- Analyze competitor activities and market trends to identify growth opportunities and strengthen product positioning.
Training & Capability Building
- Design and deliver technical and commercial training programs for:
- Sales Teams
- Channel Partners
- Distributors and Dealers
- Cooperative Societies
- Progressive Farmers
- Enhance the technical competency of stakeholders regarding crop protection products, agronomic practices, and integrated crop management.
Stakeholder & Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with farmers, distributors, retailers, cooperatives, FPOs, and key influencers.
- Conduct regular society and field visits along with sales teams for:
- Order generation
- Collections support
- Product training
- Market intelligence gathering
Team Leadership & Management
- Lead, mentor, and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve business and marketing goals.
- Monitor team performance through KPIs and ensure effective implementation of marketing strategies.
- Drive a high-performance culture focused on customer satisfaction, innovation, and business growth.
Reporting & Analytics
- Prepare and present periodic reports on campaign effectiveness, budget utilization, market development activities, and business performance.
- Utilize market data and field insights to refine strategies and improve decision-making.
- Monitor key performance indicators including sales growth, market share, farmer reach, and channel productivity.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- B.Sc. Agriculture (Mandatory)
- M.Sc. Agriculture (Preferred)
- MBA in Marketing/Agribusiness (Added Advantage)
Experience
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in the Agrochemical, Crop Protection.
- Proven experience in agricultural marketing, product promotion, channel engagement, and team management.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Agrochemical/Crop Protection industry.
- Knowledge of local agricultural ecosystems and farmer behavior.
