Role Overview
The Program Director - Konkan will lead the organization's flagship Integrated Rural Development Model, anchored in the Konkan region and surrounding geographies. This strategic leadership role sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and model-building.
Key Responsibilities:
In this role, the Program Director will be tasked with integrating multiple donor-funded projects into a single, coherent development model while driving impactful, community-level outcomes across various development sectors. This involves moving away from fragmented delivery to build highly replicable systems, frameworks, and playbooks that institutionalize organizational knowledge. Ultimately, the director will sit at the intersection of strategy and operations, ensuring high-quality, disciplined execution across all field locations at scale.
1. Model Ownership & Program Integration:
Build, refine, and own the organization's Integrated Rural Development Model, ensuring all projects contribute to a unified system rather than fragmented delivery.
Develop organizational frameworks, toolkits, and replicable processes.
Seamlessly integrate multiple sectors, including Natural Resource Management (NRM), Livelihoods, Education (schools + ECCE), Health, and Institution building.
Align various donor-funded projects within a unified program architecture.
2. Program Delivery, Performance & Governance
Ensure all targets are met, timelines are strictly adhered to, and budgets are managed effectively.
Maintain exceptionally high standards of quality, consistency, and field execution.
Lead monthly program reviews and quarterly strategic reviews to identify risks early and make proactive decisions.
3. Team Leadership & Capability Building
Manage and mentor Senior Program Managers and Project Managers.
Foster a culture of deep accountability, leadership capability, and performance discipline across the field teams.
4. Strategic Contribution & Knowledge Management
Partner with the Strategy & Partnerships team to conceptualize proposals and shape program designs.
Support the COO in high-level donor engagement and strategic discussions.
Collaborate with the MEL Lead to capture field insights, identify best practices, and ensure institutional learning is translated into practice.

Stakeholder ManagementManage key operational relationships at the field level, including donors, local partners, and government officials.
Key Deliverables
(First 12 - 18 Months) - Define and fully document the Integrated Development Model. Align all ongoing and new projects to the common organizational framework. Establish a rigorous and disciplined review and reporting cadence.
Demonstrably improve program quality, consistency, and field team capability.
Produce clear learning outputs and institutional documentation.
Qualifications and Experience:
- 12–18 years of progressive experience within the development sector.
- Strong track record in managing large, complex, multi-sector rural development programs.
- Proven experience working closely with CSR donors and government systems (preferred).
- Systems Thinker: Ability to see connections across disparate sectors and move teams beyond project silos.
- Execution-Focused: Possesses strong discipline in delivery and thrives when managing complex operations.
