Registered Nurse (RGN)

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Registered Nurse (RGN or RNID) to join our residential social care team supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities. This role is ideal for a nurse with experience in, or a genuine interest in developing expertise within, intellectual disability (ID) services. But we will also consider newly qualified candidates.

The successful candidate will support residents with a range of health needs, including complex and chronic conditions, within a person-centred, community-based residential setting.

Reporting To

Clinical Nurse Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care to residents in line with best practice and regulatory standards
• Support individuals with intellectual disabilities in maintaining optimal health and wellbeing
• Manage and monitor chronic conditions
• Administer medications safely and in accordance with policy
• Work collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team (OT, SALT Behaviour Support, Play Therapist, Psychologist), families, and external healthcare providers
• Develop and implement individualised care plans and risk assessments
• Promote independence, dignity, and social inclusion for all residents
• Maintain accurate clinical records and documentation
• Participate in audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing service development

Essential Criteria

• Registered General Nurse (RGN) or Registered Nurse Intellectual Disability (RNID) with active registration
• Strong clinical skills and a commitment to high standards of care
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• A genuine interest in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities

Desirable Criteria

• Experience working in intellectual disability or residential care settings
• Experience supporting individuals with acute and complex medical needs
