Job Description
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Senior Accountant to lead financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax governance, and group reporting across India entities.
This role will operate at a senior level within the organisation, partnering closely with the CEO and Chairman, while acting as a key interface between operational teams, Group Finance, external auditors, tax advisors, regulators, and other professional stakeholders.
The successful candidate will ensure financial integrity, regulatory compliance, disciplined reporting, and strong internal controls, while providing insight to support strategic decision-making as the group scales.
Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Statutory Compliance
- Lead preparation of multi-entity statutory accounts under UK GAAP
- Manage monthly management accounts with clear commentary on performance
- Oversee Companies House filings and all UK statutory obligations
- Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations including Corporation Tax, VAT, PAYE
- Act as technical accounting authority on complex matters
- Partner with Group Finance on year-end, audit, and consolidated reporting
- Board & Executive Reporting
- Play a pivotal role in month-end board reporting
- Prepare financial packs and performance summaries for CEO, Chairman, and Board
- Provide variance analysis and commercial insight against budgets and forecasts
- Support governance forums and strategic finance discussions
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Commercial Finance
- Lead annual budgeting and rolling forecast cycles
- Work closely with budget holders, challenging assumptions constructively
- Produce detailed variance and performance analysis
- Provide financial insight and challenge to operational and commercial teams
- Group Integration & Governance
- Support financial integration of newly acquired entities
- Ensure consistent accounting treatment and reporting standards across entities
- Maintain group-wide compliance documentation and governance records
- Monitor regulatory changes impacting UK operations
- Financial Controls & Process Improvement
- Strengthen internal controls and reporting processes
- Take ownership of month-end processes (journals, accruals, prepayments)
- Improve reporting efficiency and data integrity
- Support cost control and operational performance initiatives
- Provide guidance and informal leadership to junior finance support where applicable
Requirements
Minimum 7+ years India-based accounting experience (Trading/ Investment/Private Equity)
Qualified Chartered Accountant (fully qualified)
Strong expertise in Indian / Global statutory compliance and tax regulation
Experience within multi-entity or group structures
Solid understanding of Tax, Trading Accounts etc.
Experience preparing board-level financial reporting
Strong analytical capability and commercial acumen
Ability to operate in a growing, fast-paced, scaling environment
