Position Summary
We are currently seeking a skilled Senior Accounts Executive to join our APAC Shared Services team in Singapore. Reporting to the Local Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions for two key entities: Singapore and Japan. The successful candidate will apply robust accounting principles to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports, and ensure compliance across regional boundaries.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & General LedgerManage full sets of accounts for the Singapore and Japan entities.Ensure accuracy of the general ledger by preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, prepayments, and supporting schedules.Review GL coding for transactions processed by the Accounts Payable (AP) team to ensure data integrity.Prepare and review monthly financial statements (Balance Sheet and Income Statement) in compliance with applicable accounting standards.
Month-End & ReconciliationsLead pre-closing and month-end close processes, including a detailed review of account balances and classifications.Perform timely and accurate account reconciliations using approved tools, investigating variances, and driving resolutions.Coordinate intercompany transactions, ensuring alignment with regional counterparts and prompt resolution of discrepancies.
Fixed Asset Management & ComplianceOversee Fixed Asset Management, ensuring proper recording, depreciation, and disposal of assets.Support the Local Finance Manager in statutory and internal audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and responding to auditor queries.Manage tax compliance, including GST/VAT filings for Singapore and Japan, and liaise with external tax agents and regulatory authorities.
Process Improvement & ProjectsIdentify opportunities for process and control improvements and assist with their implementation to enhance efficiency.Perform ad-hoc duties and special projects as assigned by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Experience: 4–5 years of accounting/finance experience, specifically with full sets of accounts.Technical Expertise:Direct experience in Month-End closing, Fixed Asset management, Management reporting, Taxation, and Financial Audit.Proficiency in SAP and data entry.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office applications.Regional Knowledge: Prior regional accounting experience is highly preferred, particularly dealing with different jurisdictions like Japan.Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with regional stakeholders and external partners.Self-motivated with a meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to meeting strict deadlines.Ability to interpret complex financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement).Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
