Senior Engineer

Job DescriptionSenior Engineer required to join a leading civil and marine contractor for multiple projects across the West of Ireland. The successful candidate will take ownership of engineering activities on major civil and marine infrastructure projects, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with programme, specification and budget. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious engineer looking to play a key role in challenging and rewarding projects.

Role: Lead the engineering function on assigned projects from commencement through to completion. Manage and mentor Site Engineers and Graduate Engineers. Ensure works are carried out in accordance with drawings, specifications and relevant standards.

Prepare and review RAMS, temporary works, inspection and test plans and engineering documentation. Coordinate setting out activities and ensure engineering accuracy across all project phases. Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and regulatory authorities.

Monitor project progress and proactively identify engineering solutions to minimise programme risks. Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Management Systems. Assist with procurement of materials, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.

Manage quality inspections, snagging and handover documentation. Support commercial teams by identifying variations and maintaining accurate site records. Drive continuous improvement and promote innovation in construction methodologies.

Requirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline. 3+ years' experience in civil engineering, marine engineering or heavy infrastructure projects. Strong knowledge of Irish construction regulations and industry standards. Excellent setting out, surveying and technical engineering skills.

Experience managing engineering teams on live construction projects. Strong communication, organisational and leadership abilities. Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office and surveying equipment.

Full clean driving licence.
