Role Description
The Site Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Nenagh. The Site Manager will oversee day-to-day site operations, including planning work schedules, coordinating trades and subcontractors, and ensuring materials and equipment are available as needed. This role involves monitoring construction progress against program and budget, enforcing health and safety standards, and conducting regular site inspections to maintain quality.
The Site Manager will liaise with project managers, design teams, clients, and regulatory bodies, resolve on-site issues, and maintain clear documentation, site reports, and records. The position also includes leading toolbox talks, managing site staff performance, and supporting continuous improvement in construction processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing construction sites for commercial, educational, or residential projects, with strong knowledge of building processes and regulations.
- Competence in project planning and coordination, including scheduling, resource allocation, and management of subcontractors and suppliers.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental standards on construction sites, with the ability to implement and monitor compliance.
- Effective leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate site staff and maintain a positive, productive site culture.
- Solid communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with clients, design teams, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and technical documentation, and to identify and resolve buildability issues.
- Good organizational and documentation skills, including maintaining site records, reports, and project-related paperwork.
- Proficiency with basic IT tools and construction-related software (e.g., MS Office, project scheduling tools) is an advantage.
- Relevant construction or engineering qualification (e.g., degree, diploma, or trade background) and a valid site safety certification are preferred.
- Experience with Irish construction standards and working with main contractors in the Midlands region is beneficial.
