Test Automation Associate Engineer

Why this role exists:

The Test Automation Associate Engineer designs and maintains automated SAP testing frameworks to ensure solution quality, release stability, and regression coverage. This role solves the problem of manual testing bottlenecks and quality gaps by integrating automation into CI/CD quality gates. This role builds and runs regression suites that directly minimise defect leakage and accelerate release cycles.

In this role you will:

Automation Engineering & Execution:

• Build and maintain robust SAP automation frameworks to ensure high solution quality.
• Execute regression testing to identify failures early and ensure release stability.
• Manage CI/CD quality gates to automate validation and reduce manual intervention.
• Achieve key performance indicators related to automation coverage, defect leakage, and cycle time reduction.

Governance, Compliance & Safety:

• Ensure all requirements and documentation comply with established governance and security standards.
• Ensure documentation and vendor engagement complies with applicable laws and policies.
• Ensure for a safe site by implementing and evaluating safe work practices.
• Identify and report site hazards or incidents to ensure timely corrective action is taken.

Technical Accountability:

• Demonstrate a strong sense of personal accountability for quality contributions and automation reliability.
• Apply analytical thinking to resolve complex regression failures and quality gaps.

Who you will be working with:

• Internal Delivery Teams: Quality Analysts and Support Analysts.
• Internal Partners: Developers, Functional Analysts, Business Analysts, and Operations.
• External Partners: Testing Tool Vendors and SAP.

What success looks like:

• Automation Excellence: Achieving 80% automation coverage for critical business flows.
• Release Stability: Maintaining a release success rate of > 98% with defect leakage < 2%.
• Operational Velocity: Reducing regression cycle time by 20% faster year-on-year.
• Safety & Compliance: Active management of safety performance and 100% adherence to governance standards.

Qualifications and work experience:

Essential:

• Education: Degree in I.T., Software Engineer, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of SAP test automation experience.
• Specialist Skills: Expert knowledge of automation frameworks and analytical thinking.
• Attributes: Strong collaboration skills and attention to technical detail.
• Technology Proficiency: Tricentis Tosca, CI/CD Tools, and SAP Test Automation Tools.
