Role

On behalf of our Client, SWIM is seeking a new VP Finance, reporting to Ownership. The VP will lead a team of approximately 8 people (direct and indirect reports) and will be responsible for Accounting & Finance while also overseeing other corporate services such as HR, IT and outsourced consultants.

Specific responsibilities include cash‑flow management, budgeting & forecasting, ad hoc and routine management reporting, process improvements, and ongoing system optimization.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a well‑rounded business leader with excellent communication skills and relationship‑building capabilities. The ideal candidate will be personable, entrepreneurial, down‑to‑earth, confident, resilient, and adaptable. Leadership skills are essential, as is the ability to partner effectively across all departments and levels.

A background as a traditional accountant who has evolved into a general business leader and who can contribute strategically in the Boardroom is desired.

Education & Qualifications

• CPA Designation is required.
• Foundational experience in a public practice accounting firm is required (midsize CPA firm or large multinational accounting firm).

Experience

• Approximately 10 to 15 years of relevant and progressive work experience; this could be the first VP‑level role for the successful candidate.
• Experience in a similar finance leadership capacity.

Size

• Experience working for a mid‑size and entrepreneurial business with revenues of over $100M CAD.

Sector

• Preference for experience in a company that manufactures and/or moves product or operates in an industrial business.

Salary & Benefits

Base salary commensurate with years of relevant work experience, qualifications, and skills. The anticipated base salary for this role is in the range of $155,000 to $185,000, plus a performance‑based bonus, benefits, paid time off, etc.

Location

Based in Burnaby. The VP Finance will work from the office an average of 4 days per week, collaborating in‑person with the team and the Owners. The company provides a flexible work schedule as needed to manage both life and work commitments.
