Job Description
Hua Mei Training Academy (HMTA) is seeking an experienced Assistant Director to support the Executive Director in the overall leadership and management of the Academy. This role plays a critical part in driving sustainable growth, operational excellence, and high‑quality programme delivery across business development, programme management, operations, and curriculum development.
Working closely with internal teams, subject matter experts, government agencies, and external partners, you will help ensure that HMTA’s programmes remain relevant, compliant, and impactful in support of workforce development in the care and community sector.
Key responsibilitiesBusiness Development & PartnershipsDrive the development of new training business opportunities, partnerships, and collaborationsManage an annual revenue portfolio of approximately $3 million, aligned with organisational targets and market needsStrengthen HMTA’s positioning and visibility through effective marketing of new and existing programmesEngage in cross‑sector networking to identify emerging training needs and growth opportunitiesProgramme Leadership & DeliveryProvide oversight of academic programmes, corporate workshops, and community talksEnsure end‑to‑end programme planning, execution, and delivery—from scheduling and recruitment to completion and graduationWork closely with trainers, lecturers, and subject matter experts to deliver high‑quality, learner‑centred programmesEnsure compliance with relevant funding and regulatory requirements (e.g. SSG, AIC, C3A, NSA, CPE)Operations & GovernanceOversee operational systems, reporting, audits, and documentation required by internal management and external agenciesManage training calendars, platforms (e.g. TPGateway, TMS), logistics, and programme administration to ensure smooth deliverySupport budget planning and funding applications to optimise grant utilisationBuild and maintain strong working relationships with government agencies, statutory boards, and corporate clientsPeople LeadershipProvide leadership, coaching, and development to multidisciplinary teamsEstablish clear objectives and performance indicators to drive accountability and outcomesSupport staff development, performance management, and succession planningEnsure alignment with HR policies and foster a positive, high‑performance culture
RequirementsQualificationsDegree in Business, Marketing, Learning & Development, or a related disciplineExperience & capabilities5–7 years’ experience within an educational or training environmentDemonstrated experience and strong working knowledge of WSQ programmesProven ability to engage effectively with government agencies and statutory bodiesStrong business development, stakeholder engagement, and communication skillsSound understanding of adult learning principles and learning & development practicesDemonstrated ability to lead and manage curriculum development teams
