We are expanding our project business across India and are seeking dynamic professionals to lead business development activities in their respective territories.
Position Summary
The State Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and managing business opportunities in government, defence, institutional, and infrastructure projects within the assigned territory. The role requires extensive field engagement with government departments, consultants, EPC contractors, project management consultants (PMCs), and channel partners to drive product approvals, specifications, registrations, and project opportunities.
This is a field-intensive position requiring strong relationship-building capabilities and a long-term project development mindset.
Key Responsibilities
Government & Institutional Business Development
* Develop relationships with engineers, procurement teams, and decision-makers across government departments and institutions.
* Engage with defence-related organizations, public sector undertakings, infrastructure agencies, and project authorities.
* Track upcoming projects, tenders, and procurement opportunities within the assigned territory.
* Identify opportunities at the planning, design, and execution stages of projects.
Consultant & Specification Management
* Meet electrical consultants, architects, PMCs, and design agencies.
* Promote Adhunik products for inclusion in project specifications and BOQs.
* Secure product approvals, vendor registrations, and technical acceptances.
Contractor & EPC Engagement
* Build relationships with EPC contractors, MEP contractors, electrical contractors, and project execution teams.
* Support contractors with product selection, technical information, and commercial coordination.
* Drive repeat business opportunities across multiple projects.
Market Intelligence
* Monitor competitor activities, pricing trends, approved brands, and project developments.
* Maintain a project pipeline and opportunity database.
* Provide regular market feedback to management.
Desired Candidate Profile
Experience
* Minimum 3 years of experience in project sales, institutional sales, government sales, infrastructure business development, or electrical industry sales.
* Experience in electrical products, switchgear, lighting, cables, wiring accessories, industrial products, or Building material sectors will be preferred.
* Existing relationships with consultants, contractors, government departments, or infrastructure stakeholders will be an advantage.
Skills
* Strong communication and presentation skills.
* Excellent relationship management capabilities.
* Ability to identify and develop long-cycle project opportunities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
* Strong planning, reporting, and follow-up discipline.
Education
* Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
* MBA (Marketing) will be an added advantage.
Travel Requirements
* Extensive travel within the assigned territory.
* Willingness to spend significant time meeting customers, consultants, and project stakeholders.
