Our Team
This role is based in Melbourne for our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala producing propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high‑performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. Being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
Your Role
- Lead the design, development and continuous improvement of solid rocket motors, warheads and associated propulsion systems
- Perform high‑quality engineering analysis and produce accurate, fit‑for‑purpose technical documentation, reports and design artefacts
- Plan, conduct and document testing activities to validate designs and support product development
- Develop and implement manufacturing, prototyping and production support plans to ensure successful delivery of propulsion products
- Drive propulsion R&D initiatives, building internal capability, advancing technologies and fostering innovation
- Demonstrate strategic thinking, collaboration and problem‑solving skills, embracing continuous learning and delivering outcomes
Your Experience
- Degree qualified in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- Experience in product development, mechanical design and engineering delivery
- Proficiency in CAD design and drafting, ideally using Creo
- Strong engineering analysis, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
- Experience preparing technical reports and engineering documentation
- Proven experience working on mechanical systems, propulsion systems or aerospace products, with hands‑on prototyping and development experience
