BackgroundChemLex, founded by an interdisciplinary team in 2022, focuses on the disruption of chemical synthesis via its proprietary end-to-end high-throughput fully-automated platform powered by AI algorithms. Compared to traditional chemical synthesis via manual operations, our robotic platform not only improves the efficiency of chemical synthesis but also reduces cost and provides significant ESG benefit via our quantitative green chemistry system. Through this innovative platform ChemLex provides chemical synthesis services to global customers in the pharmaceutical, and other chemical industries.
We are seeking motivated scientists, engineers and support staff to help establish a new R&D and production facility in Singapore which will house our fully-automated platform. We want to hear from enthusiastic applicants who have an interest in AI and automation and are energised by the idea of working in a start-up environment.
About the roleWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to work at our new automated R&D and production facility in Singapore. As a new business in Singapore the right candidate will have the opportunity to grow as the company does, working at the forefront of AI & automation in the pharmaceutical and chemical synthesis industry.
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of all automated hardware on site, as well as the design and installation of new systems. As a fast-paced, disruptive business, the ideal candidate will be flexible and agile, able to problem solve effectively and quickly.
Key responsibilities
Design overall electrical solutions and select electrical components.Develop and debug PLC programs, design and debug HMI, assemble and debug electromechanical systems, and perform network communication debugging.Design and produce electrical control cabinet drawings.Oversee system installation, commissioning, and preparation of technical documents and related drawings.Communicate with electrical system suppliers on technical matters.
Necessary qualifications and qualities
Bachelor’s degree or above in Control, Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.At least 3 years of experience in electrical design.Proficient in using design tools such as AutoCAD and EPLAN.Strong knowledge of servo control, stepper motor control, and familiarity with robotic motion control.Proficient in PLC programming and hardware, with independent development and design capabilities. Familiar with motor, sensor, and other automation component selection and application.Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good teamwork and collaboration abilities.Fluency in English speaking, reading and writing.Willingness to travel internationally for training.
