Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and driven Lead - International Market to oversee and expand our business operations across Asia Pacific. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in international trade, a deep understanding of the export process, and a successful history of managing teams and international client relationships. This role requires both strategic thinking and hands-on execution to grow export volumes, manage compliance, and build strong distribution networks in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
Export Operations & Market Development
- Develop and implement export strategies for Asia Pacific markets.
- Identify new business opportunities and key export markets within the APAC region.
- Manage end-to-end export operations including documentation, logistics, and compliance with international trade regulations.
- Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and pricing strategies to optimize business performance.
- Technical Sales exposure in Building and Industrial markets
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of export executives and coordinators.
- Allocate responsibilities, set targets, and review performance to ensure effective team output.
- Conduct regular training sessions to upgrade team knowledge of export procedures, documentation, and compliance.
Client & Channel Partner Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with international clients, distributors, and channel partners.
- Oversee negotiation of contracts, payment terms (LC, advance, credit, etc.), and pricing.
- Resolve customer queries and ensure high levels of service and satisfaction.
Logistics & Compliance
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and shipping lines for timely dispatches.
- Ensure all export documentation (Invoices, Packing Lists, COO, BL/AWB, etc.) is accurate and compliant with both origin and destination regulations.
- Stay updated on international trade laws, country-specific import/export policies, and product-specific regulatory requirements.
- Oversee Legal compliance
Reporting & Coordination
- Generate regular reports on sales performance, market developments, and export documentation status.
- Coordinate with internal teams such as Production, Finance, Legal, and Supply Chain for seamless order execution.
Key Requirements:
- Engineer (any stream)/Postgraduate in International Business or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Technical Sales exposure in Building and Industrial markets
- 15+ years of experience in export management or international sales, with at least 5 years in a leadership/team handling role.
- In-depth knowledge of Asia Pacific markets and export procedures.
- Proficiency in handling export documentation, international logistics, INCOTERMS(International Commercial terms), and payment instruments (LCs, TT, etc.).
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to travel internationally as required.
- Working knowledge of international trade compliance platforms (e.g., DGFT, ICEGATE, etc.).
