We are partnering with a fast-scaling technology company building advanced hardware solutions deployed in real-world, high-usage environments. This is a critical leadership hire to drive the mechanical engineering function across new product development, platform standardisation, and sustaining engineering.
This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership capability — someone who can architect robust products while building a high-performing engineering team.
The OpportunityYou will take ownership of the end-to-end mechanical function — from concept through production — ensuring products are reliable, manufacturable, and scalable. You will also play a key role in shaping engineering standards, improving development predictability, and driving cross-functional execution.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead the mechanical engineering roadmap across current and future product platformsDrive design and development for new products, enhancements, and cost optimisation initiativesEstablish and enforce best-in-class engineering practices (DFMEA, tolerance analysis, DfM/DfA, validation frameworks)Enhance product reliability through strong design fundamentals, material selection, and failure analysisBuild, mentor, and scale a high-performing mechanical engineering teamDefine and implement component, material, and subsystem standards to improve reuse and platform consistencyCollaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Electrical, Embedded, Validation, Compliance, Supply Chain, and NPIOversee product lifecycle from concept through EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production and ramp-upLead root cause analysis and corrective actions for field and production issuesManage engineering resources, vendor relationships, timelines, and execution risks

RequirementsDegree in Mechanical Engineering or related field10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering within product-based environmentsProven leadership experience with team management, hiring, and performance developmentStrong track record delivering products end-to-end (EVT/DVT/PVT to production)Experience in sustaining engineering and resolving complex field issuesHands-on expertise in design standards, DFMEA, tolerance stack-up, and validation processesExperience driving platform standardisation and BOM optimisationStrong technical depth across mechanical systems, structures, and high-wear componentsAbility to work cross-functionally across engineering, product, and operations teams
