The Opportunity

\n

We are seeking a Mechanical or Electrical Project Manager to join our Data Centre team in Frankfurt, Germany. This is a client-facing role supporting the delivery of large-scale, ground-up data centre developments for leading global technology clients across Europe.

\n

You will be responsible for managing project delivery from early-stage design through to commissioning, with a strong focus on MEP systems and technical excellence.

\n

Candidates must be based in Germany (or willing to relocate) and ideally be fluent in German to effectively manage local stakeholders and contractors.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for:

\n

\n
• Leading the delivery of mechanical and/or electrical packages across data centre construction projects
\n
• Providing technical input at project inception, advising on MEP strategy and delivery approach
\n
• Establishing and managing key project success criteria, including time, cost, quality, and technical performance
\n
• Overseeing MEP design coordination and ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards
\n
• Managing quality, health & safety, and environmental compliance across all project stages
\n
• Establishing robust project governance, processes, and reporting structures
\n
• Supporting procurement of MEP contractors and specialist suppliers
\n
• Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams, including consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders
\n
• Monitoring project performance using KPIs and implementing improvements where required
\n
• Managing change control processes relating to MEP scope and design evolution
\n
• Overseeing project financials, including cost tracking and reporting
\n
• Acting as a key interface between client, contractors, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle
\n
• Ensuring accurate and timely project reporting, including progress updates and technical reviews
\n

Qualifications & Experience

\n

To be considered for this role, you will need:

\n

\n
• A degree or professional qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential)
\n
• Proven experience delivering MEP packages on large-scale construction projects, ideally data centres or mission-critical environments
\n
• Strong technical understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems within complex builds
\n
• Experience in a client-facing project management or consultancy role
\n
• A thorough understanding of the full project lifecycle, from concept through to commissioning and handover
\n
• Knowledge of project management principles, tools, and methodologies
\n
• Experience supporting procurement and managing contractors within the construction environment
\n
• Ideally chartered status (or working towards it)
\n
• Fluency in German (preferred) and strong English communication skills
\n
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, both written and verbal
\n
