Role Description The Sales Manager (Alcobev Industry) will lead sales operations and business development activities in Mumbai on a full-time, on-site basis. This role involves managing and expanding distributor and retail networks, building strong relationships with trade partners, and driving volume and value growth across assigned territories. The Sales Manager will plan and execute sales strategies, monitor performance against targets, and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences.
Daily responsibilities include supervising field sales teams, conducting market visits, ensuring visibility and availability of products, and coordinating with marketing and supply chain teams for promotions and inventory alignment. The role also requires preparing sales reports, forecasting demand, ensuring compliance with local Alcobev regulations, and representing the company in trade events and key account meetings.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in sales management or key account handling within the Alcobev , with a strong understanding of trade channels in Mumbai.
- Demonstrated ability in territory planning, sales forecasting, and achieving revenue and distribution targets.
- Strong skills in relationship management, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement with distributors, retailers, and on-trade partners.
- Solid analytical and reporting skills, including comfort with sales data, market insights, and basic Excel or CRM tools.
- Knowledge of local alcohol licensing norms, compliance requirements, and responsible marketing practices.
- Effective team leadership capabilities, including coaching, performance monitoring, and field force management.
- Clear and confident communication skills in English and relevant regional languages, with the ability to present and influence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; an MBA or equivalent qualification is an advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently within Mumbai and nearby markets as required for business development and market visits.
