Job Description
About the Role
The Business Development Manager – Logistics & Supply Chain Solutions will be responsible for driving revenue growth by acquiring new customers and expanding business opportunities across freight forwarding, customs clearance, warehousing, contract logistics, multimodal transportation, and technology-enabled supply chain solutions. The role requires a proactive sales professional with strong industry knowledge, commercial acumen, and the ability to develop long-term customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Business Development:
- Identify and acquire new customers for:
- Air Freight
- Ocean Freight (FCL/LCL)
- Customs Clearance
- Contract Logistics
- Warehousing & Distribution
- Multimodal Transportation
- Supply Chain Solutions through Technology enabled Platform
- Develop and execute territory sales plans to achieve revenue and GP targets.
- Generate leads through market mapping, networking, referrals, and industry engagement.
Customer Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with exporters, importers, manufacturers, and supply chain decision-makers.
- Conduct regular client meetings, business reviews, and solution presentations.
- Ensure high customer retention and customer satisfaction levels.
Sales & Commercial Management:
- Prepare quotations, RFQs, pricing proposals, and service contracts with assistance from support team.
- Negotiate commercial terms with customers while maintaining profitability.
- Coordinate with operations, pricing, and customer service teams for seamless execution.
- Monitor shipment volumes, margins, and customer profitability.
- Build Sales team in due course in assigned location with ownership of deliverables.
Market Intelligence:
- Track market trends, competitor activity, freight rates, trade lane developments, and customer requirements.
- Identify opportunities in key verticals such as:
- Automotive
- Pharma
- Engineering
- Retail
- Chemicals
- Electronics
- E-commerce
Reporting & CRM:
- Maintain sales pipeline and customer interactions in CRM systems.
- Submit weekly sales reports, forecasts, and target achievement updates.
- Ensure timely collection and adherence to credit policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred.
