About the Role
The company is seeking a Vice President, Business Development & Technology to lead strategic growth initiatives in the field of collaborative licensing, with a focus on advancing inclusive and efficient new patent licensing approaches. The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new patent pool opportunities, particularly in the areas of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, and data center infrastructure. This role requires a deep understanding of intellectual property, patent licensing, and emerging technologies, as well as the ability to engage with external market, technical evaluation, and commercial strategy.
The VP will work closely with cross‑functional teams to expand the company's portfolio of programs and strengthen its position as a leading patent pool administrator.
Responsibilities
- Identify, evaluate, and develop new patent pool opportunities in semiconductors, AI, and data center infrastructure.
- Engage with external markets, technical evaluation, and commercial strategy to advance patent licensing approaches.
- Work closely with cross‑functional teams to expand the portfolio of programs and strengthen the company’s position as a leading patent pool administrator.
- Drive long‑term growth initiatives aligned with industry shifts toward AI‑driven infrastructure and compute‑intensive applications.
- Lead strategic growth initiatives in collaborative licensing and contribute to the company's overall strategic roadmap.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 12 years of experience in business development, licensing, technology strategy, or related fields.
- Strong technical background in at least one specified domain (semiconductors, AI, or data center infrastructure).
- Advanced degree in engineering, computer science, or related technical field.
- Experience with standards bodies or industry consortia.
- Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and the ability to bridge technical depth with business outcomes.
- Highly collaborative approach to influencing senior stakeholders.
