Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE:
Representing Dusit Hotels & Resorts in India and supporting the company’s commercial goals by driving sales across the corporate, MICE, wholesale, and luxury leisure segments. The role is responsible for developing strategic business plans, managing client relationships, and identifying growth opportunities within the India market. The Director of Sales will work in close alignment with Dusit’s global sales and marketing strategies and act as a brand ambassador in the market.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work with the Corporate Director of Sales Global Sales& MICE/Corporate in developing sales strategy for hotels to include positioning, pricing and business analysis.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the future team members in India GSO sales team, any, to drive performance, market growth, and alignment with global sales objectives.
- Provide sales services to all hotels in Dusit in the position as Director of Sales to approved customer database.
- Provide a full area market intelligence service for the competition and the travel trade market and trends on a monthly basis for responsible market.
- Design the strategic outlines of a monthly sales activity plan.
- Solicit PCO, TMC, Travel Agents, Tour Operators and High-end travel agents for Dusit in appointed market.
- Focus on assertively establishing new client contacts and developing detailed information on the potential revenues from these accounts for the portfolio of Dusit.
- Participate in client familiarization trips, site inspections, sales trips and roadshows as required to meet the sales target of the target market.
- Provide a monthly report about all sales activities and business trends.
- Handle sales events, exhibitions and sates trips upon budget plan for Dusit International for appointed market.
- Introduce and update key and select travel agents through joint and sole sales calls.
- Co-host breakfasts, lunches and dinners with relevant trade partners to present Dusit Hotels & Resorts to key customers in appointed market.
- Arrange and propose educational site visits for travel agents, product managers, reservation staff, travel departments, tour operators and, incentive agencies.
- Handle all incoming inquiries from the trade, consumer and media from designated territories.
- Continually review the actual production of each account against the potential contracted.
- Ensure that the Dusit brand is well positioned within the marketplace.
- Ensures an up-to-date knowledge on all Dusit product and service offerings, including promotions. In addition, to be familiar with the products, service rates new developments of our key competitors, and an awareness of general industry trends.
- Drive opportunities to up-sell and cross-sell Dusit properties.
- Maintain a full working knowledge of the IT support tools used in the world of sales today, including sales-specific software, property PMS, the Microsoft Office tools.
- Represents Dusit during designated trade shows and sales trips.
- Actively targets new accounts via sales calls, sales trips, trade shows, etc.
- Maintain file records, call and activities report systematically for retrieval or reference.
REPORT LINES & COMMUNICATIONS:
• Reports to Corporate Director of Global Sales & MICE/Corporate
• Interacts with clients, guests, prospect clients, superiors and colleagues to promote Dusit International hotels and resorts
JOB REQUIREMENT:
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in hotel sales or hospitality representation, with a focus on corporate, MICE, and agency business.
- Proven track record of revenue generation and market development in India.
- Prior experience working in or with a Global Sales Office (GSO) or hotel representation company is highly desirable.
- Strong client network and business relationships within the India travel trade and corporate market.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- High degree of professionalism, integrity, and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently and deliver results in a remote environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CRM tools and hospitality sales systems.
- Fluent in English (additional language skills a plus).
