Role Description The Social Media Manager for The Great Tech Game Podcast is a full-time role based in New Delhi.
We're looking for an experienced Social Media Manager to own The Great Tech Game Podcast’s presence across every social platform, end to end — from idea, to script, to final post. You'll be the one heading the team and thinking up the content, writing it, and producing it, working closely with our video editing and research teams to turn raw episodes into content that speaks to people at large.
The person in this role will plan, create, and publish social media content across platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, X, YouTube, and Facebook to promote episodes, highlight guests, and grow audience engagement. Day-to-day responsibilities include designing and implementing social media campaigns, optimizing posts for reach and engagement, writing captions and short-form copy, managing content calendars, and monitoring analytics to refine strategy.
The role also involves active community management, collaborating with the podcast host and production team, and coordinating with designers or editors to create multimedia assets. The Social Media Manager will stay current with platform best practices and tech-industry trends to ensure the podcast’s online presence remains fresh, relevant, and aligned with brand guidelines.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Content Strategy & Ideation
- Own the social content calendar across LinkedIn, X (Twitter), Instagram, and YouTube Shorts
- Ideate content formats and hooks tailored to each platform's audience and algorithm
- Track global trends in tech, economics, and geopolitics to spot timely content opportunities tied to episodes and news
Content Creation & Production
- Write copy for LinkedIn posts, tweets/threads, Instagram captions, and carousel posts
- Identify and script short-form clips and reels from full episodes, working with the video editor on cuts, captions, and pacing
- Design Instagram carousels and other static assets (using tools like Canva, Figma, or similar)
- Draft newsletter content for Substack and LinkedIn
Analytics & Growth
- Track performance across platforms and iterate on formats, timing, and messaging based on data
- Benchmark and incorporate best practices from other successful creators, newsletters, and podcasts globally
- Own follower growth and engagement targets across channels
Website & SEO
- Keep the website updated with fresh content and identify continuous enhancements
- Post podcast transcripts and key takeaways
Others
- The above roles and responsibilities will keep evolving, and will include other work streams or projects that come up
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO), with experience managing multi-platform campaigns and growing audiences.
- Strong Communication and Writing skills, including the ability to craft clear, engaging, and platform-appropriate copy and captions.
- A strong personal or professional portfolio showing content you've ideated and produced, along with a strong understanding of platform-specific best practices (LinkedIn, X, Instagram, YouTube Shorts)
- Experience in Content Strategy, including planning content calendars, aligning social media activity with brand goals, and repurposing podcast content for digital channels.
- Genuine interest in technology, policy, geopolitics, economics, and international relations
- Excellent writing skills, with the ability to translate long-form, intellectually dense conversations into sharp, scroll-stopping content
- Familiarity with social media analytics tools and performance metrics, with the ability to interpret data and adjust tactics accordingly.
- Working knowledge of design and editing tools (Canva, Figma, AI Tools, or similar)
- Understanding of technology and innovation topics, or willingness to quickly build domain knowledge relevant to the podcast’s themes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a hybrid environment, managing deadlines and multiple projects at once.
- Prior experience in podcast, media, or digital content environments is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in either Political Science/ International Relations/ Public Policy, etc. or alternatively, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-4 years of work experience in the space ideally preferred.
