What You’ll Be Doing (position summary):
Our team is a customer-first partner delivering solutions that enable a relationship-oriented bank for a modern world. We’re looking for a QA Automation Testers to help accelerate delivery while strengthening quality across our DI&A portfolio. Reporting to the Director, IT QA, you will lead automation strategy and execution, partner closely with delivery teams, and modernize testing practices to help teams ship reliable software faster.
In this role, you’ll translate business and technology needs into practical automation solutions, guide teams on tooling and best practices, and provide hands-on leadership across automation design, implementation, and continuous improvement. Success is measured by increased delivery throughput, reduced manual testing effort, and improved stability and confidence in releases. You can effectively perform all work activities remotely and will only be required to be on-site on an occasional basis.
How you'll succeed
- Lead end-to-end QA delivery across projects or releases, ensuring quality objectives are met within timelines.
- Drive a shift-left approach by involving QA early in requirements, design, and planning discussions to prevent defects sooner.
- Prepare test estimates, test plans, and QA timelines based on scope, complexity, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
- Manage the team on a day-to-day basis, including task allocation, progress tracking, blocker resolution, and priority alignment.
- Oversee test design and execution, ensuring adequate functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end test coverage.
- Lead defect management and triage, working closely with developers and stakeholders to prioritize, track, and resolve issues effectively.
- Provide clear QA status reporting, risk visibility, and release readiness updates to stakeholders, while continuously improving testing processes and quality practices.
- Quality governance & reporting: Establish consistent standards for test design, traceability, defect triage, and execution reporting. Provide clear, actionable insights on test results, risk, and release readiness.
- Stakeholder partnership & coaching: Work closely with application teams, platform partners, and QA colleagues to align on automation goals, unblock delivery issues, and coach teams toward sustainable quality practices.
- Continuous improvement: Identify bottlenecks and failure patterns, and drive improvements in automation reliability, maintainability, execution time, and environment-related readiness.
Who you are:
- Experienced professional: You bring 7+ years of experience in QA & 4+ years of qa lead across complex enterprise delivery portfolios.
- Structured and process-oriented: You can implement lightweight governance (standards, controls, reporting) that improves consistency without slowing teams down.
- Collaborative and influential: You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical partners, and you can influence without authority to drive better outcomes.
- Continuous improver: You proactively spot risks, inefficiencies, and quality gaps—and you take ownership to fix them.
- Education: You have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science (or equivalent experience).
- Values-driven: You bring your real self to work and live our values—trust, teamwork, and accountability.
