Responsibilities
The Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for full‑cycle recruitment to attract and hire high‑caliber talent for Staples Canada, supporting Retail Management, Corporate, and closed‑door facilities positions. The role includes sourcing, interviewing, coordinating background checks, and participating in projects such as career fairs, hiring days, and external vendor collaboration.
- Recruit for all level positions for Retail, Corporate, and closed‑door lines of business.
- Utilize Oracle Recruiting Cloud (ATS) to screen assigned job requisitions.
- Act as a consultative partner to hiring managers, providing market insight, sourcing strategies, and recommendations.
- Employ innovative sourcing techniques to build talent pipelines of high‑quality active and passive candidates for current and future roles.
- Create and share engaging, professional talent‑related content across platforms such as LinkedIn to support the employer brand.
- Represent the TA team internally and externally through presentations, hiring initiatives, career events, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Qualifications
- University degree or post‑secondary education required; relevant experience preferred.
- 3–5 years progressive HR experience, including talent acquisition.
- Retail industry and corporate recruitment experience is an asset.
- Bilingual skillset (English / French) is a strong asset.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills, with proven ability to manage a high volume of work while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions and represent the company professionally through presentations and engaging social media content.
