Health And Safety Officer

Overview

Ayrton Group is seeking a Health & Safety Officer to oversee health & safety operations across the Cork area.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the company's health and safety function, ensuring compliance with Irish legislation, promoting a strong safety culture, and working closely with site teams across a range of active projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a positive health and safety culture across the business.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
• Develop, implement, and review health and safety policies, procedures, and safe systems of work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing reports and implementing corrective actions.
• Deliver health and safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training where required.
• Work closely with site management, project teams, and subcontractors to ensure high safety standards are maintained.
• Maintain accurate health and safety documentation and records.
• Monitor contractor compliance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and external stakeholders when required.

Requirements

• Relevant Health & Safety qualification.
• 1+ years of experience in a Health & Safety role within construction or pharmaceutical environments.
• Good knowledge of Irish health and safety legislation.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Full, clean driving licence and willingness to travel between sites.
