Health And Safety Officer

ProSource are recruiting a Health & Safety Officer on behalf of a leading Main Contractor who are continuing to grow with a strong pipeline of ongoing projects across Cork.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Junior to Mid-Level Health & Safety Officer looking to join a well-established contractor delivering a range of high-profile construction projects throughout the region.

The role offers excellent exposure, career development opportunities, and the chance to work alongside experienced project and safety teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
• Support site management teams in the implementation of Health & Safety policies and safe systems of work
• Carry out site inductions and toolbox talks for employees and subcontractors
• Assist with the preparation and review of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
• Monitor subcontractor compliance and promote a positive safety culture on site
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented
• Maintain Health & Safety documentation and records in line with company requirements
• Report on Health & Safety performance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement
• Liaise with project teams, subcontractors, and external stakeholders on all Health & Safety matters
• Keep up to date with current Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices

Qualifications and Experience:

• Degree qualified in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline
• 1–5 years' experience in a Health & Safety role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and construction site practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team
• Strong organisational and reporting skills
• Full driving licence
